Founded in 2022, Rural Smiles Foundation began with a bold vision: to amplify the voices and rights of marginalized communities in rural Uganda. What started as grassroots health outreach has grown into a fully registered NGO championing health, digital inclusion, and economic empowerment.
Over the years, we have steadily expanded our programs and built a dedicated team passionate about social justice and community development. From humble beginnings, we’ve evolved into a trusted partner working hand-in-hand with local governments, community-based organizations, and international allies. We engage communities from the very beginning of every project. Through participatory rural appraisals, community dialogues, and local leadership involvement, we ensure that the programs we run are designed with the people, not for them. Our goal is to co-create solutions that communities trust and own.
Anyone passionate about change can become a community ambassador — including youth, women, elders, and even teachers. We offer basic training and provide materials to help them educate their peers on issues like health, land rights, and digital safety.
