He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Metropolitan International University, a Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Nkumba University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in NGO Management at UMI"

Geofrey has strengthened his expertise through participation in several human-centered and inclusive leadership programs, including the Inclusive Democracy Accelerator by People Powered. He is also set to participate in the D-Hub Masterclass AAT, further advancing his leadership and community transformation skills.
As Executive Director of Rural Smiles Foundation, Geofrey has led the organisation’s growth into a grassroots-driven institution advancing health rights, digital rights, civic space, renewable energy, and economic empowerment in rural Uganda. His work focuses on designing participatory and inclusive programs that strengthen community resilience, empower marginalized populations, and promote sustainable social change.
He is the founder and lead coordinator of SPACEUG, a civic-tech threat monitoring and early warning platform supporting human rights defenders, journalists, activists, and civil society actors through secure incident reporting, digital safety, and coordinated response mechanisms. His work combines technology, advocacy, and community engagement to strengthen democratic participation and protect civic space across Uganda and the wider East African region.
Geofrey has collaborated with regional and international partners including CIVICUS, European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), People Powered, Hivos, and NetHope. He has represented grassroots civil society voices in regional and global engagements on youth participation, digital rights, democracy, civic resilience, and inclusive governance.
In 2025, Geofrey and Rural Smiles Foundation were recognized as finalists in the Youth in Action Peace Awards during the Continental Stocktaking Conference on Youth, Peace and Security convened by UN agencies in Nairobi, Kenya. He is passionate about leveraging technology, participatory leadership, and inclusive community engagement to build resilient, informed, and empowered rural communities.
